CHENNAI: The eighth batch of Certificate Course in Hospital
Management by Sankara Nethralaya Academy commenced on Saturday with 18
students.
The first session on ‘Effective service delivery’ was delivered by professor S S G K Murali, management faculty.Speaking to City Express, Murali said that management study was important for medical professionals. The course would help one learn how to manage bio-medical waste and handle legal issues, etc., besides helping the hospital in upgradation of technology. A Mahalingam, program director of Sankara Nethralaya Academy, said the Academy also had plans to launch a 12-week-certificate course in quality management in association with Health Care Providers India by next month.
The classes for the course will be conducted on Saturdays between 2 pm and 5 pm for medical professionals. The objective of the program is to teach the roles and responsibilities of the healthcare managers in an organisation.
The course fee is `25,000.
Dr S S Badrinath, founder, Sankara Nethralaya Academy, was also present.
