A niche seminar on the important topic of “Healthcare Business Analysis” was conducted jointly by TwinTech Academy and Fhyzics Business Consultants in Chennai on Monday, 24th October 2016 at the Indian Society of Training and Development located in Aminjikarai, near Ampa Skywalk, one of the famous landmarks of Chennai.
 
This full day session was inaugurated by Mr.Muthiah Ramanathan – Director: Mind Dynamic Centre, President: Hypnotique Circle, Secretary, NLP & TA Circle and Trustee: Madras Psychology Society Trust. He was also gracious enough to take the first session on Communication/Networking Skills for the delegates. He stressed upon the importance of the topic in the current day work atmosphere and the various methods of communication that need to be used according to the situation.
 
The next session was by Mr.Vikram Sivaraman - Assistant Vice President at Fhyzics, who gave an introduction to the topic of Business Analysis and explained the importance of this topic in the various industries and with a special emphasis to healthcare like where it can be used and the benefits that can be derived by using Business Analysis.
 
At the end of these two sessions, the delegates took a lunch break.
 
The first session post lunch was taken by Dr.B.Krishnamurthy – Principal Assessor and Trainer, NABH. The topic he handled was Introduction to Healthcare Accreditations and Clinical Governance.
The first half of this session was laced with various interesting anecdotes to explain the importance of governance with respect to the healthcare industry. The other half of this session touched upon the another important aspect of Accreditation of the hospitals. The various types and advantages of accreditation were dealt with by the speaker. This session was very informative.
 
The last session of the day was on Business Analysis Framework by Mr.Jegan Jeyabal, Business Consultant at Fhyzics. He talked about the steps that needed to be followed while doing Business Analysis for a particular project.
 
This session, in which personnel from various healthcare institutions participated was an attempt from the joint organisers to introduce the topic of Business Analysis to the hospital sector and the benefits of doing the same regularly. The participants thoroughly benefitted from this seminar which could be made out based on the feedback they gave at the en d of the seminar.
 
Just before the seminar came to a close, Mr.Mahalingam of Twintech made a brief announcement regarding the various courses that are being planned to be conducted in the near future. The seminar ended with a group photo of the participants and handover of participation certificates to the delegates.

TwinTech Academy Business Management conducts a niche session on ‘Accreditation for Hospitals’ for healthcare management executives on 22nd October 2016, Saturday.

The session started with a warm welcome and the need for hospital accreditations for healthcare professional managers by Shri A. Mahalingam, Managing Director of TwinTech Academy Business Management Solutions, Chennai.

The session was handled by Dr Sangeetha Kamatchi BDS, PGDHA, M.Phil, Quality Manager at PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Reasearch and Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001-2008, Certified Internal Assessor for NABH and Certified NABH Assessor for DHSP. She is also a faculty for Healthcare Quality Management Programmes.

The session was meant to educate and create awareness on the critical need for quality accreditation for health care institutions in an increasingly competitive healthcare marketplace and a highly demanding patient base, among health care managers, healthcare entrepreneurs currently operating their own health care institutions and individuals and corporate bodies planning to enter into this fast growing and high potential field.

Accreditation is a clear indication of the quality and capability and a stamp of high standard of hospitals in India; it is an indication of world class treatment to patients and would gradually boost Medical Tourism in India. The accreditation brings in the much needed credibility as it symbolizes quality, it helps in branding of the hospital, enhances hospital value and reliability making India truly a great Medical Tourism destination.

The session covered the entire gamut of quality and work flow processes and practices both clinical and non-clinical, from minute details like employee educational credentials to installation of advanced equipment imperative for accreditation by prestigious certifying bodies both national and international.

Center for Medical Genetics (CMG) (a unit of GenVams TRUST) is a non-profit, service - oriented professional genetic testing laboratory in Chennai. Our founding principle and primary goal is “PREVENTION OF BIRTH DEFECTS”. Under this project we are in the process of establishing a comprehensive Medical Genetics Service. To begin with, we have established a cytogenetic laboratory and genetic counseling service. Chromosomal disorders are the major cause of birth defects, which afflict one out of every 160 children born. Cytogenetic testing for chromosome anomalies and counselling could help and save the family and the community from undue emotional and financial burden.

Dr. Vaithilingam G Dev, PhD - has nearly 40 years of experience in chromosomal and genetic disorders (both diagnostic and research) in the USA.
