A noble healthcare couple show the way to relief in a grave crisis

Here's what a quiet, simple, socially conscious and compassionate couple has been doing during this Covid 19 crisis.

Shri. A.Mahalingam (a Healthcare Professional with 3 decades of experience in Healthcare Administration and Academics) and his wife Smt. Jayalakshmi ( a Village Health Nurse ) residing in New Vellanur  village near Avadi identified the poor, needy and migrant workers in their area first.

Deprived of monthly income and suffering hunger pangs , they had no means to buy even a square meal.

Since 24th March 2020, the day the lock down began, this humble couple have distributed essentials like rice, pulses, vegetables, wheat flour and cooked food  to these people continuously for 30 days and have provided over 1000 families.

They braved the hot sun, humidity and the pandemic threat and covered the villages of New Vellanur, Morai, Veerapuram Kollumedu and New Kannikapuram in Avadi and few areas in Ambattur also, door delivering the provisions and food.

It is such acts of compassion and love by a few  people like this couple that help humanity survive during a major crisis like the Covid 19 pandemic.

Mr Mahalingam and his wife in all humility averr that whatever they did just  could not have been possible but for the support and help received from their friends and well wishers.

All the beneficiaries have tearfully conveyed their gratitude to this selfless couple.
