Congratulations to Chennai Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital Dr A Rashima for her prestigious "Dr C K Ramchandar Centenary Award for the Best Scientific Presentation award at 74th Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Occupational Health, Occucon 2024 Dr. Rashima A of Chennai`s Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital`s Dr. Rashima A, M Phil, PhD (Optometry) - Head - Occupational Optometry Services & Senior Optometrist & Researcher - Glaucoma Project & Assistant Professor, Elite School of Optometry,Medical and Vision Research Foundation,Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai has been awarded the prestigious "Dr C K Ramchandar Centenary Award for the Best Scientific Presentation" at the 74th Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Occupational Health, Occucon 2024. The conference, held from January 31st to February 3rd in Vadodara, recognized Dr. Rashima A's outstanding contribution to the field of occupational health. She has an impressive track record with over 30 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals. She has presented her research at numerous conferences, receiving accolades such as the Young Scientist Award and the Golden Jubilee Award from the Indian Association of Occupational Health.Her dedication to her craft extends beyond national borders, as she is a proud recipient of the Endeavor Executive Fellowship (Australia) and a competitive grant from the Glaucoma Foundation (The US). Her research interests include Environmental effects on the eye, Glaucoma, Occupational ocular disorders, and Innovative education models in Optometry. She also serves as a reviewer for international journals. Dr. Rashima A's dedication to her work embodies the philosophy that knowledge, when coupled with humanity, fulfills its true purpose. Her relentless pursuit of creating safer, worker-friendly, and productive work environments has made a significant impact on promoting occupational health in India. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place during the next annual meeting in Chennai in January 2025.
