The AHMP –
INDIA (Association for Healthcare Management Professionals (India) the
professional, administrative, service body for healthcare professionals has
been a great champion of Nurses and their contribution to dispensing of quality
health care, The body has decided to acknowledge, recognize and honour the
sacrifice and silent service extended by these white angels especially in
backward and remote areas not served by basic amenities.
The
AHMP(India) invites nominations from Village Health Nurses (VHN) for the "Outstanding
Nurse Award" as an acknowledgement, recognition and honour of the
selfless service and humanitarian concern of nurses serving in rural areas,
going beyond the call of duty. The award seeks to honour them for their yeomen
and selfless services during and after the pandemic and extending a human touch
to the treatment process and speeding up recovery and for being a pillar of
strength to the Doctors, patients and their family members.
The Village
Healthcare Nurses serve as the critical bridge between the
government's Primary Health Centers (PHC) and the womenfolk in
the village. The physical and psychological support and personal
reassuring touch of the Village Healthcare Nurse begins right from the time a
woman in the village conceives and continues harmoniously during the various
stages of pregnancy to her successful delivery and postnatal care of the mother
and ensuring that the newborn is immunized with all the statutory vaccinations
according to the immunization schedule
Village Health Nurses became the frontline foot soldiers against
Covid-19 as they marched from home to home under inhospitable weather
conditions and rough terrain to reach out awareness, preventive and treatment
to villagers and pregnant women, their role assumed specific significance
because they serve the economically, socially backward groups with low
awareness levels who can be persuaded only by personal counseling and building
confidence and trust. The VHN also became the key contributor to the success of
the large scale vaccination against covid-19 in rural areas. The AHMP (INDIA)
has decided to acknowledge, recognize and honour these great women who risked
their own health and life and served their brothers and sisters with the
prestigious AHMP`s Outstanding Nurse Award
The awarding ceremony would be held online on 08th May
2022 in commemoration of the ensuing World Nurses Day-12thMay
2022
