The Rotary Club Chapters
of Fremont and Bay Area, the U. S. and Guindy dedicated the sponsorship of an
equipment for mobile Eye Surgical unit ( MESU) and the operational cost of
performing cataract surgeries in them to the Medical Research Foundation, Sankara
Nethralaya, at an event held in the city on Monday.
The grant to the tune
of $85,000 was
provided under the Rotary`s Sight Now Program. The surgical equipment will be
installed in one of the two buses that function as the MESU and go to inaccessible
rural areas for cataract surgeries.
